What Is the Kgodumodumo Dinosaur Interpretation Centre?

Opened in June 2025, this modern centre is a celebration of South Africa’s rich palaeontological and geological history. Nestled within the sandstone cliffs of Golden Gate Highlands National Park, the centre is designed to look like the scaled skin of a dinosaur, blending beautifully into its natural surroundings.

Inside, you’ll find:

Life-sized dinosaur reconstructions, including the mighty Ledumahadi mafube
Fossil exhibits and ancient dinosaur eggs
Interactive displays on geology, archaeology, and ancient ecosystems
Cultural storytelling from the Basotho people, who named the site “Kgodumodumo” - meaning “the great giant”

Entry Is Free for South African Visitors Until 30 September 2025!
